House Rules

A Gentle Guide to Enjoying Your Stay

We’re so happy to have you here! To ensure a comfortable and safe experience for everyone, we kindly ask you to keep the following points in mind during your stay.

🍽️ Meals & Dining

  • All meals are served in the common lawn area. If the weather is too cold, dinner can be served in your room for added comfort.
  • We cook meals on request, so please note that any meals ordered but not consumed will still be charged at full price.
  • Children aged 5 and above are charged the same rate as adults.
  • We kindly request you not to waste food. Let’s be mindful and respectful of the effort and care that goes into preparing each meal.
  • Meal times are fixed, and while we don’t offer room service as a rule, we do make exceptions—especially during chilly weather or when elderly guests need a bit of extra comfort.

🚿 Water Conservation

  • As water is scarce in the hills, we do not change towels and linens daily. Fresh sets are provided in 4–5 days if required, to help conserve resources.
  • Water is a precious resource in Himachal, especially in our region. Please help us conserve by avoiding unnecessary usage.

🔌 Electricity & Appliance Care

  • Kindly switch off all electrical appliances, especially geysers, when not in use. Due to our remote village location, voltage fluctuations are common and can easily damage appliances. Geysers, in particular, should never be left on overnight.
  • We don’t have power backup, so when the lights go out, enjoy the simple village-style vibe with us!

🪵 Firewood (Winters Only)

  • Firewood is available and charged per bundle due to the effort in sourcing it.
  • Please use it mindfully—don’t burn an entire bundle at once.

🪑 Wooden Furniture Care

  • Hot utensils should not be placed directly on wooden tables to avoid damage.

🔇 Noise Policy

  • Please respect the privacy and peace of neighboring cottages, as well as the wildlife. Loud music or noise is not allowed after 10:00 PM to ensure a tranquil environment for all.

🚭 Smoking

  • Smoking is strictly prohibited outdoors in the summers. Burning cigarette butts pose a serious risk of forest fires. Violations will result in a hefty fine.
  • If you choose to smoke indoors, please use the ashtrays provided, and ensure nothing else is burned.

🐾 Pet Policy

We’re delighted to welcome your furry friends to our homestay! To ensure a comfortable experience for all guests—both human and animal—we kindly ask that:

  • You bring your pet’s own bedding or a sheet, as we request that pets not be allowed on the furniture. This helps us maintain cleanliness and ensures comfort for future guests who may have allergies or sensitivities.
  • We have three friendly resident dogs on the property. To make things smooth and stress-free, we usually coordinate with pet parents so that pets from both sides can enjoy the space safely, often with separate outdoor times if needed.
  • Our friendly dogs are: Chando, Bruni, and Jackie. They’re mostly indoors but do go outside and are not tied up. As this is their home first, we ask guests not to request that they be kept tied up at all times. If you’re uncomfortable around dogs, we kindly suggest booking another place.

🏡 Respect the Property

  • Please treat the space with the same love and kindness you would show your own home.
  • You will be responsible for any damage caused to the property or its belongings and will be charged for the same.

  • Breakfast: 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Lunch: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

A Note About Our Place

Living in the mountains isn’t always easy. From power cuts during heavy snowfall to long drives for basic supplies, things can take more time and effort here. But in all of this, we’ve learned to slow down, adjust, and truly live with what we have.

We wouldn’t trade this life for anything. Himachal teaches us to find joy in simple things—quiet mornings, fresh food, clean air, and the gentle rhythm of nature. We’re deeply grateful to call this home, and we’re honored to share it with you. Thank you for being here and for respecting the space we love.
